Visiting Salinas Valley Medical Clinic
We Encourage Visits from Friends & Loved Ones
With few exceptions, staying in a hospital is usually not anything people
look forward to. While our staff at Salinas Valley Medical Clinic (SVMC)
does everything in its power to make a patient’s stay comfortable
and easy, it’s always difficult to be out of your home to receive
important medical treatment. A visit from a friend or loved one is a great
morale booster, and may improve their condition overall. Positive feelings
and good mental health have been shown to improve a patient’s resistance
to illness and keep their bodies working hard at healing.
We have also found that patients are sometimes reveal pains and concerns
to visitors that they may not be comfortable mentioning to the staff.
If your loved one has expressed concerns about their care that you believe
the staff needs to know about, please inform us as it may be important
to identifying a major problem.
SVMC encourages visits during appropriate visiting hours. As much as visiting
is helpful to patients, limits on visiting hours must be implemented for
the safety and comfort for all patients staying in the clinic. Excessive
noise and chaos can impede the ability of others to heal. In certain cases,
you may be admitted to stay beyond normal visiting hours with permission
from the staff.
